Great news: Taylor Swift is now the owner of her masters! Not so great news: Reputation (Taylor's Version) has been scrapped.
On Friday May 30th, Taylor Swift announced that she had finally – and rightfully ! – gained ownership of her masters. In doing so, she's now the owner of every song and music video she's ever created. Taylor Swift (Debut), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation now belong to Taylor Swift. (Project that on my gravestone!!!)
Prior to Taylor securing her own masters, she was still working on 2 more projects from her re-recording journey: Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version).
However, she has now confirmed that Rep (TV) will no longer be recorded and will not be released...in full. (The vault songs? She may still release those...)
The real gag though? In a letter addressed to fans detailing the monumental purchase of her masters, she revealed that she hadn't even recorded a quarter of it.
Here's everything Taylor has said about Reputation (Taylor's Version), why she's no longer releasing it, what she may still release and everything in between.

Taylor Swift teases Reputation re-record era with dress easter egg at the VMAs
Why is Taylor Swift no longer releasing Reputation (Taylor's Version)?
It's true – the full version of Reputation (Taylor's Version) complete with new versions of all 15 original tracks will not be released as an album.
In her letter, Taylor wrote: "What about Rep TV? Full transparency: I haven’t even re-recorded a quarter of it."
"The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in the first 6 that I thought couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off."
Taylor went on to confirm that "there will be a time" when the unreleased Vault tracks will be shared, and that the album can "still have [its moment] to re-emerge when the time is right".
When is Taylor releasing the Reputation (Taylor's Version) vault tracks?
Taylor did not specify when fans can hope to hear the From The Vault tracks from Reputation (Taylor's Version).
Given that she revealed she had only re-recorded a "quarter" of Reputation, it's unclear if she's already recorded the Vault tracks.
In her letter, Taylor hinted that if the remaining Vault tracks are released, "it won’t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now."
With that in mind, it's possible that Taylor may wait to share them on an important anniversary or milestone for the album.
It could be Reputation's birthday, which is November 10th. It could be the day she released 'Look What You Made Me Do', August 24th. We'll have to wait and see what she has planned.
2025 is also the Year of the Snake so it does feel like a very fitting year for Taylor to share them this year. With the re-recording era now over, it's possible that she may decide to close this important chapter before the clock strikes midnight on 2026.
Will Taylor Swift release 'Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version) and 'Delicate (Taylor's Version)'?
Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Rep (TV), Taylor had already teased the re-recorded versions of 'Look What You Made Me Do' and 'Delicate'.
On August 4th 2023, Taylor debuted an official snippet of 'Delicate (Taylor's Version)' in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 episode 6. It's on Prime Video and you can fast forward to 11:56 to hear it in all its glory.
On August 23rd 2023, Taylor also debuted an exclusive snippet of 'Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version)' in the first teaser trailer for Prime Video's new drama Wilderness. A second snippet of 'LWYMMD (TV)' was released in March 2024 in a trailer for 'The Dynasty: New England Patriots'.
And in May 2025, a longer version of the song was included in The Handmaid's Tale season 6.
It's possible that Taylor may release those re-recorded versions, but she has not yet confirmed whether fans will get to hear them in full. We'll update this article if that changes.

So what about all those Reputation (Taylor's Version) easter eggs?
Turns out we're all walking Clownelia Street right now. Taylor had been dropping 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' easter eggs since 2022 and the Swifties had been working overtime to try and figure out what Taylor's plan was.
There was the 2022 MTV VMAs dress that looked like the 'Look What You Made Me Do' bathtub scene. There was the alternating blue and black outfits that everyone thought was hinting at Rep (TV) following 1989 (TV). There was the snake references...
Instagram captions like "Look what you genuinely made me do" and "Getting in the car now…" Acceptance speech quotes like "I love slinking around different genres" with snake hand motions. That ONE Reputation Eras Tour bodysuit. 'I Did Something Bad' being left unplayed for a suspiciously long time.
Hopefully one day, Taylor will put us all out of our misery and explain her master plan behind the Rep (TV) Easter eggs but for now, it's time we all wrap up our Rep (TV) theories and go to bed.

What are the Reputation (Taylor's Version) vault tracks?
At just 15 songs long and the only Taylor Swift album without a deluxe edition or any bonus tracks, it's possible 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)' will have many surprises from the vault in store for us. However, just like the past Taylor's Version albums, Taylor is keeping all vault track details for 'Reputation' close to her chest for now.
In 2023, in her TIME magazine Person of the Year profile, Taylor teased that the Rep (TV) vault tracks will be "fire".
Taylor wrote most of 'Reputation' with Max Martin, Shellback and Jack Antonoff so it's possible that most of the vault tracks will have been co-written with them. However, given that Max Martin has not been involved with Taylor's rerecords, it's possible that he won't feature on the vault tracks.
Fans have been theorising and hoping that 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' featuring Zayn would be part of the vault, as well as her own version of 'This Is What You Came For'. Both have been performed as surprise songs but we'll have to wait and see if they make the cut.
What collabs will be on Reputation (Taylor's Version)?
The original version of 'Reputation' contains one collaboration: 'End Game', which features Ed Sheeran and Future. With the album being an electro-pop record with elements of trap, EDM and hip-hop, the collab possibilities are endless.
Taylor is yet to drop any hints on who else will be on 'Reputation (Taylor's Version)', and even the fans are stumped as to who could possibly be featured on it, but we'll let you know when we know more.
